thanks for that

so, i had the privilege of hearing this story for the first time today.

go ahead. pop on over there and read it and then let me know what you think.

it spoke to me in a lot of ways. i’ve been feeling gratitude for some of life’s trials and tribulations lately. it helps me grapple with perspective to remember that everything has it’s purpose and i do not yet know my full path in life.

to me that is freeing and empowering.

  1. LOVE, Elaine…. thank you so much for sharing. I needed it tonight…. had a bit of a rough weekend at work wondering what on earth God had me doing in such an emotional battlefield… this made me smile. :)

  2. I love them all- but this one especially made me smile…. you’re a beautiful woman and incredible Mommy…. I’m so proud of who you’ve grown into and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do with your life next. :)

  3. I love the symbolism in the story. And, I have more appreciation now for my teacups collection which includes cups from my grandma and your grandma. I know they both had some very tough life experiences and took comfort in sipping tea from those cups and preserving them to pass along. I wish life didn’t have to beat us all up individually and we could pass along a perfect life just like a treasured china cup to our children but unfortunately its not planned that way. So…. its nice to have some remedies for taking comfort during life’s storms. I think you have some of G G’s china with cups….remember her and her strength with a cup of tea soon and use one of her cups for the event. Next time you visit I will brew us some tea and I will use my grandma’s teacup and you can use your grandma’s cup. And I will offer a teacup I bought on my honeymoon as a gift to Darla…..to be obtained at some point in the future. (I am sure she will suffice with a pot of tea in her tiny doll teaset for now.)
